THANK YOU CAREGIVERS!!!
On National Caregivers Day, We honor the caregivers across the country for their tireless work to make a true difference in the lives of many. Wether a caregiver is at your home around the clock or provides respite care, they are providing crucial care to our nations elderly. If you have a caregiver in your life, take a moment to let them know they are appreciated. Showing appreciation and gratitude to your caregivers or the caregiver of a loved one is a simple act, but can go a long way.
According to Harvard Health publishing, “In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. People feel and express gratitude in multiple ways.”
Being a caregiver can sometimes feel like a thankless job. With the Covid-19 pandemic still raging, caregivers continue to play a critical role in the well being of seniors. Providing in-home care is crucial during the pandemic as it avoids wide spread contamination elderly may experience in a nursing home. These workers are putting themselves at risk of coronavirus by breaking a certain degree of isolation in order to care for their patients. Though many of caregivers may not fall into a particularly “at-risk” age group, their decision to increase their own potential of exposure to coronavirus to care for others is a heroic act. This is why today we thank the caregivers at Senior Family Homes , as well as those around the globe who continue to show up and provide care for for their patients in the midst of all the difficulties brought on my the coronavirus.
